Notice the yellow page in the window. Yes, this is a RE(-p)O in your typical, overbuilt subdivision. As a real estate analyst, I am especially interested in housing trends. Major elephant money (institutional investors) is gearing up for a real estate investment splash. As puzzling as it may be, it’s a commercial real estate splash. Vornado Realty Trust, the third-largest real estate investment trust (REIT) in the country, is stockpiling capital as we speak. The fundraising goal is thought to be slated at $1 billion.

A brand new, tropically themed manor just southwest of Miami, this Coral Gables mega-estate is more resort than mere residence. Water is the main attraction to the 16,400 square-foot home, which is oceanfront and surrounded by swimming pools, chlorinated lagoons and splashing water features. Construction on the 7-bed/7-bath home was completed this year, outfitted with Asian-themed and open beam interior spaces. The $24.5 million, two-story home has two staff rooms, a sprawling master suite with a safe room and a four-car garage.

Illustration by Idiots’Books The second business that Tjan took Perry into was even more successful than the first, and that was saying something. It only took a week for Tjan to get Perry and Lester cranking on a Kitchen Gnome design that mashed together some Homeland Security gait-recognition software with a big solid-state hard-disk and a microphone and a little camera, all packaged together in one of a couple hundred designs of a garden-gnome figurine that stood six inches tall.

In an industrial yard behind Burbank’s Bob Hope Airport, dozens of orange forklifts and 135-foot-high booms stand idle, gleaming in the afternoon sunlight. As recently as two years ago, the yard was largely empty because the equipment was busy being used to hoist cameras, rig lights and build sets for “Iron Man,” “Get Smart,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and other movies shooting throughout Southern California.”I’ve been doing this for 25 years and I’ve never seen such a sustained downtime,”

A little about me – orbitmom.wordpress.com 07/13/2009 Photo by OrbitMom Since there are so many wonderful woman doing the “mommy blogs” out on the blogosphere, I thought I’d share with you a little bit about me, aside whats in the about me section. Just some bits if you will. 1)I’m technically a professional photographer….technically. I’ve been taking photos for an auto dealership and for a Realtor in south Florida for a few years. While I wish it was with a great DSLR, it isn’t.

What is the best finance option on an unfinished house for a first time buyer? I am looking at an unfinished single family detached home that is unfinished. The listing realtor reports a quote of $11k to complete the repairs. It is listed for $118,800 and I feel that I could get approved for $130k (though I have no approval, I’m going off of calculations from websites) I am asking this to find out if it would be better to apply with a lender that would be part of the FHA 203(k) loan program or if it would be better (seeing as the property is approved, according to their website) to go with a Fannie Mae HomePath Renovation Mortgage, which has only 3 nationwide approved lenders.
