How To Sell A House On Your Own FSBO
07/22/2009
by Batiyah Yisrael It sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? To have the whimsical student loan fairy automatically and effortlessly wipe away $25,000 of your school loan. Wow, I caught myself daydreaming a bit there. As unbelievable as it sounds, there is a student loan company who is doing just that. If you have a student loan with Sallie Mae, then you actually have a chance for this to happen for you! I’m not sure what your odds are or even mine; however, there has been one $25,000 winner every month since 2008.

Well, it’s late, but the Duchess of Earle is arriving at Steve Renner ’s office in Bloomington, MN, for a Tuesday evening meeting.  It’s been awhile since she’s found her way here on a Tuesday – or even a Saturday, as life has been just a bit too booked.  Mr. Renner used to have a live meeting every week, but then altered his pattern and adopted a “meeting in a secret location” strategy for some months, which rather altered the Duchess’ schedule and allowed other things to creep into her schedule and overtake this Tuesday evening slot.  But she’s been in attendance online when possible.

It’s Tour de France season – which is an exciting time of the year for a man with calves and varicose veins like mine.  Road cycling remains a minority interest in the British Isles but, perhaps stimulated by the UK’s stunning success in track cycling in Beijing, I’m seeing unusually high levels of awareness and enthusiasm for the TdF this year.  This is good – it means I may not have to move to Belgium (although their beer is a compelling proposition). What has this to do with BPM?  Bear with me…

Recent events at CIT have led observers to focus on the apparent differences between financial institutions deemed too-big-to-fail and others, the “haves” and the “have nots,” respectively. But to make that simple distinction is to ignore broader developments in regulatory policy. Too-big-to-fail has been around far too long for there to have been so little progress made in resolving large banks.

Default: The Student Loan Documentary is a feature-length documentary chronicling the stories of borrowers from different backgrounds affected by the private student lending industry and their struggles to change the system. In 2005 private student loans were exempted of ALL consumer protections. No matter when their loans were taken, many borrowers now find themselves in a paralyzing predicament of repaying two, three or multiple times the original amount borrowed, with no bankruptcy protection, no cap on fees and penalties and no recourse to the law.

Need to do a full blog on this later, so this probably won’t make sense to the casual reader. It is surprisingly moderate and deferential for the DC Cir generally and for Kavanaugh, Sentelle, and Edwards in particular. http://pacer.cadc.uscourts.gov/common/opinions/200907/07-1426-1196829.pdf In particular, this language gives the FCC a green flag to totally reexamine its broadband policy under a new Administration and in light of new market realities.

I was more or less letting the White House’s efforts to send the left-Sphere out to shill its medical rationing program*slide – after all, having the President personally lie to you is a step up; usually you get that through intermediaries – but in the process of reading up on this Don Surber linked to this funny article on the network well running dry for the administration.  The White House wanted to schedule a last-minute press conference on health care: CBS, which airs only repeats that evening, agreed early Monday to cover the conference.

In recent news, Kellwood Co. announced that it was unable to renegotiate and extend its bond issue that matured Wednesday.  As a result, the company’s board extended the deadline for acceptance of a proposed debt exchange until midnight Friday, July 17th. Kellwood Co. is on the largest apparel manufacturers in the United States.  It has just recently negotiated a forbearance agreement with its banking group, a team led by Bank of America.  This would allow Kellwood to examining any options that could reinforce the company’s balance sheets.

If a homeowner is able to carry out a short sale to prevent his home from being added to lists of foreclosure VA and other foreclosures, it is generally known that the short sale will not affect his credit score as much as a foreclosure does. But according to John Ulzheimer, former credit score model developer at credit bureau Fair Isaac Corp., short sales are major delinquencies and they have significant effects on credit scores.
