Finding a new home in Palm Beach may be harder now than it has been in a long time. Recent reports from Palm Beach County’s real estate market indicate that the supply of homes and condominiums has reached a two-year low, with the inventory of homes for sale shrinking to seven months in September. Condominiums are not faring much better either, with supplies in September shrinking with 11 months of inventory available—down 80 percent from September 2007’s reserve of 57 months.

A nybody who knows me will tell you that I am an Army Football fan. I played for Army in the 1980s and I attend their annual football team reunion up at the academy each year. Recently, I had a conversation with a friend who is also a fan, but is (I believe) a little biased when reporting how well a team with a 3-5 record is really doing. Army played Rutgers this past Thursday night, but I did not watch the game. The next morning I read that we had lost the game, so I called my friend to see how the team had performed.

Charlotte foreclosed properties dropped in number in September, but may rise again if unemployment in the area situation does not significantly improve, based on data from the realtor association of Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda and North Port . Total foreclosure postings in Charlotte in September dropped by 16 percent from August to only 312 units, the lowest number posted since November 2007. Karen Rolland, head of the realtor association, said there have been signs that the Charlotte housing market is stabilizing, although there are still uncertainties concerning continued recovery.
