Welcome to the January 4, 2009 edition of the Real Estate Market Reports Blog Carnival. This is the first edition of the carnival for 2009, and we are seeing a continuing trend of home inventory reductions even while the rate of home sales continues to fall. Many of our real estate professional are feeling that the bottom of the real estate market will be found in 2009, due in part to the strong drops we saw in 2007 and 2008, accompanied with the aggressive position the Federal Government is taking to restore confidence in housing.

National Housing Reports Give Mixed Signals

Welcome to the December 14, 2008 edition of Real Estate Market Reports. Every week real estate professionals from all over the country report localized information about their residential real estate markets, and lately the reports have been consistently negative from coast to coast. But not this week! Renee Burrows reports that the Las Vegas Valley is showing great year over year improvements and DavidPylyp points out the strong local economy in Toronto has it poised for a strong year.

The September to September home sales figures are about as expected. There about a 30% drop in sales volume and a 10% drop in the average sales price. A lot of the price drop may be attributed to the exteme decrease in more expensive new home sales.”
